I used to be a Field Engineer at one of the top multinational companies in the oilfield service industry—but when I made an unexpected career change into Real Estate, it felt like a more natural fit. As I became more invested in local markets and what consumers are looking for in their homes, my passion for architecture and home building grew.
I love my role with Madok Developments because it provides the opportunity to channel this excitement by helping you build the home you’ve always dreamed of. One of my favourite parts is supporting you through initial design creation and helping to determine where we can make your home even better—even if that means pushing the boundaries of what’s typical. I also love exploring green products that are better for the environment and homeowners.
My parents instilled in me from a young age that if you are going to spend time doing something, do it right. This value is close to my heart, and I keep it top of mind from the moment we connect to the day we hand your keys over. As a Red Seal Ticketed Carpenter, I love the challenge of bending the standard of building design. Creating high-performing, efficient homes that embrace new building techniques and the latest technology is what Madok Developments is all about.
I love my role at Madok Developments because it allows me to take an idea and an empty lot and make it into a home you can enjoy and be proud to show off. I enjoy pushing the envelope and embracing new perspectives because I truly believe there is no “correct” way of doing things—there are multiple avenues to the same result, so it’s all about picking the best one. I’ve been calling Kamloops home since I was a small child, and it’s fulfilling to work in a community I love, helping others build the home of their wildest dreams. If I’m not busy bringing beautiful custom homes to fruition, I’m probably off traveling, adventuring on multi-day hikes, or enjoying quality time with my kids.
Kara Erickson
I describe myself as incredibly type A, and when you’re trusting the interior design of your home with me that’s a good thing. I’m all about function, flow, and identifying areas of improvement. To no one’s surprise, I enjoy organizing, planning, and creating to-do lists on and off the clock.
My goal is making your home feel easy—easy to be in and enjoy during your everyday life and in special moments. My philosophy is to customize everything. Every cupboard and corner should speak to your unique needs and preferences. I’m great at thinking ahead, so you can trust me to guide you through the process and address aspects of the design process you may not have even thought of.
When life is busy, you should be able to sink into your comfortable, effortless, beautifully designed home. Staying up-to-date on the newest trends in design helps me accomplish this in my work. When I’m not knee-deep in interior design inspiration, you can find me enjoying family time at the park, the lake, or some other place we can explore and enjoy together.
